The Phenomenon of Self-Diagnosis Behavior on Self-Healing Style in Young People
The phenomenon of self-diagnosis, which is widely discussed on social media, has made many young people carry out self-healing in their way. This research aims to discover how self-diagnosis behavior affects the style of self-healing in young people and whether the concept of self-healing, which is popular among the younger generation, is by actual self-healing. This research method uses a qualitative descriptive approach with literature studies and data collection through secondary data obtained through literature studies such as reference books, journals, articles, and other sources related to research. The results of this research show that stigma and discrimination are still obstacles for mental health sufferers in getting appropriate and adequate treatment. This triggers the younger generation to carry out self-healing independently in their style, and this has an impact on the actual concept of healing. Several ways can be used as references for young people for self-healing, including mindfulness, guided imagery, self-talk, and expressive writing.

Technology has helped make it easier for people to connect without meeting in person. Social media makes it easier for humans to interact without the need to meet in person. Information that is spread via social media can also apply quickly. This study aims to determine prospective candidates' popularity through social media as a campaign stage for the 2019 General Election. The research method used is descriptive, with a qualitative approach. This study's data sources are primary and secondary. Data collection techniques used are observation, documentation, and literature study. The data analysis technique used is a qualitative descriptive analysis model. The research findings show that social media helps prospective candidates use it as a campaign tool. In addition, social media, as prospective candidates, use a platform to increase their popularity by sharing activity posts featuring promotions or career paths from prospective candidates through their social media. This influence has a good impact on society. Young people, in particular, seem to be drawn to politics via social media.

In rapid changes in the digital world, da'wah as an effort to spread religious values is also required to keep up with the development of information technology. Currently, many preachers utilize social media, especially Tik Tok, to attract the participation of the younger generation who are already very familiar with social media. Various styles of da'wah are offered as a characteristic of each preacher. The author focuses the research study on one of the preachers quite famous among the younger generation, Gus Iqdam. This study aims to review more deeply the existence of Gus Iqdam's preaching in the spiritual preferences of the younger generation. The research method used is a qualitative approach. Data collection was carried out through observation of the Tik Tok social media content of Majelis Sabilu Taubah @hadrohsabilutaubah, then the data was analyzed using content analysis. The results showed the central role of a figure, namely Gus Iqdam, who has a distinctive and contemporary characteristic in delivering da'wah. He can attract the participation of the wider community, especially the younger generation. Gus Iqdam's da'wah style is adapted to the spiritual preferences of today's younger generation. On the fifth day of Harlah, Majelis Taklim Sabilu Taubah invited singers who were trending among young people to enliven the event. In the perspective of the spiritual marketplace theory developed by Wade Clark Roof, this shows the synergy between worldly interests and the spirituality of the generation of seekers.

The increasing use of social media among the younger generation has become a major concern in the context of character development and religious values. This article aims to investigate the potential and effectiveness of utilizing social media platforms as a tool that can strengthen the religious character of the younger generation in the digital era by the Shift Pemuda Hijrah community. This research method is based on a qualitative approach, with data collection using in-depth interviews, participant observation, and social media content analysis. The results of the study indicate that social media can be optimized for strengthening religious character by the Shift Pemuda Hijrah community. Social media can be an agent for forming the religious character of the younger generation if used wisely, creatively, and responsibly. Religious character that is strengthened through digital space will provide a strong foundation for the younger generation to face global challenges, without losing the values of faith and nationality.

Building the character of millennials in the era of revolution 5.0 in filling independence is an obligation as a large-populated country such as the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. In facing it, it is necessary to prepare a resilient and characterful generation facing the challenges in revolution 5.0, which is growing at this time, namely applying Pancasila values for the younger generation that can be implemented in the right momentum. In reality, some young people are now damaged by morals because of various things that affect them. Influences include the adverse effects of globalization, friends, increasingly sophisticated electronic media, drugs, liquor, and other harmful things. This research aims to direct the younger generation in building the nation. Research methods using literature studies are data collection techniques by conducting study studies of books, literature, and others. The results of this research confirm that the younger generation at the time of revolution 5.0 still needs direction and understanding in the life of the nation and state. The conclusion is that the younger generation, as the holder of the leadership relay, needs to be equipped with a national character with Pancasila spirit. So that the relay of the continuity of the nation to be maintained by the republic will be the unity and unity of the country and the realization of our national goals.

The reporting of climate change issues through social media can influence young people's mental health and engagement. However, there has been little research undertaken directly with young people in relation to social and digital media's reporting of climate change, and how this is experienced by young people. This study aimed to explore the interface between climate change and social media reporting for young people. A two-stage iterative approach to recruitment and data collection included an initial qualitative stage (N = 28), consisting of open-ended questions about social media's reporting of climate change issues. The second stage (N = 23) included further open-ended questions and 10 Likert-Scale questions. Overall, 51 young people 16-25-years-old opted to take part (M = 11; F = 40). Descriptive statistics and an inductive data-driven content analysis are reported. Overall, 95% of the participants reported that they had the personal skills to cope with climate change reporting on social media. Most participants stated that coverage on the climate increased 'climate change anxiety' but not their overall mental health difficulties. A four-stage experiential process of observing social media's reporting of climate change, feeling emotionally affected by the reporting, critically apprising the content and feeling motivated to engage in climate change activism emerged from the content analysis. The participants discussed experiences of digital media, rather than solely social media, in their accounts. The participants recommended changes to climate change reporting and increasing access to education about climate change issues to reduce anxiety and enhance motivation for positive personal engagement. Involving young people in conversations and education about climate change were seen as protective factors for mental health and enablers for motivation. Motivation, agency and pathways for positive change were associated with hopefulness.

Young people play a very important role in today's political dynamics. In the context of rapid social change and advances in information technology, young people have found new ways to express their opinions and participate in the political process, one of which is through digital activism. Digital activism refers to political involvement carried out by young people by utilizing digital instruments, especially through social media. This research focuses on youth engagement in digital activism and explores the impact of these new movements on social and political change. The methodology used is a qualitative approach by utilizing secondary data from literature studies, while the applied analytical techniques are descriptive and analytical. The results of the study show that there are various forms of digital activism, including online campaigns, petitions, the use of hashtags, and mobilization of movements through social media. Digital activism also has the potential to influence public policy and public perception. However, this movement is also faced with a number of challenges, such as disinformation, propaganda, and technical obstacles such as uneven internet access in various regions. From this research, it is hoped that new insights can be obtained about the dynamics of youth political participation in the digital era, as well as provide recommendations for social activists and policymakers to support the active involvement of the younger generation in the political process.

Changing times are increasingly developing into a decline in cultural and civic literacy in the younger generation. Cultural and civic literacy is the ability to adapt to the culture of other countries who come to Indonesia but still instill a sense of love for the homeland by studying and understanding various Indonesian cultures. The modern generation Z needs to be closer to Indonesian culture which is adapted to the characteristics of generation Z. The aim of this research is to find out how to integrate cultural literacy and citizenship through social media in generation Z in the era of digitalization. This research method uses a literature study or literature review where the researcher uses secondary data obtained from journals, ebooks, and articles with the stages of planning, data collection, analysis, and synthesis. The research results show that the use of technology in the era of digitalization as a media platform for generation Z can increase cultural literacy and citizenship. One of them is a short video broadcast on the TikTok application. The integration of cultural and civic literacy in generation Z in the era of digitalization involves a deep understanding of the digital context.

This research explores the understanding of young people regarding sustainable tourism and its impact on their travel behavior. Young people have great potential to promote sustainable tourism practices due to their high environmental awareness and access to information through the internet and social media. The research method used is descriptive quantitative, with questionnaires distributed to young people aged 18-35 in Indonesia. Data analysis measures their understanding of sustainable tourism and its impact on travel behavior, such as choosing environmentally friendly destinations and participating in responsible tourism activities. The results show that 76.90% of respondents agree that young people play an important role in promoting sustainable tourism, but only 68.80% indicate that this understanding directly influences their travel behavior. About 66.00% of respondents choose destinations that support sustainability, while 77.00% agree that understanding the impact of tourism influences their choices. Furthermore, 77.30% participate in responsible tourism activities. The research concludes that young people have a high awareness of sustainable tourism practices, but there is a need for increased education and access to information to strengthen the impact of their understanding on travel behavior. These results provide insights for stakeholders to design effective strategies for promoting sustainable tourism among young people.

BackgroundHigh rates of social media use and mental ill-health among young people have drawn significant public, policy, and research concern. Rapid technological advancements and changes in platform design have outpaced our understanding of the health effects of social media and hampered timely evidence-based regulatory responses. While a proliferation of recommendations to social media companies and governments has been published, a comprehensive summary of recommendations for protecting young people’s mental health and digital safety does not yet exist.ObjectiveThis scoping review synthesized published recommendations for social media companies and governments in relation to young people’s (aged 12-25 years) mental health. A qualitative approach was used to undertake inductive content analysis, where recommendations were grouped under conceptually similar themes.MethodsWe searched academic (PubMed, Scopus, and PsycINFO) and nonacademic (Overton and Google) databases for relevant documents. Eligible documents provided recommendations to regulators and social media companies that pertained to social media, young people, and mental health. This review excluded recommendations for young people, caregivers, educators, or clinicians surrounding strategies for managing individual social media use; instead, the recommendations emphasized the regulation or design of social media products and practices of social media companies. Peer-reviewed and gray literature from selected Western contexts (Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States) were relevant for inclusion. Documents were published between January 2020 and September 2024.ResultsOf the identified 4980 unique reports, 120 (2.41%) progressed to full-text screening, and 70 (1.41%) met the inclusion criteria. Five interrelated themes were identified: (1) legislating and overseeing accountability, (2) transparency, (3) collaboration, (4) safety by design, and (5) restricting young people’s access to social media.ConclusionsThis review emphasizes the need for multipronged approaches to address the rapidly increasing presence and reach of social media platforms in the lives of young people. These recommendations provide practical and tangible paths forward for governments and industry, backed by expert organizations in youth mental health and technology regulation at a time when expert-informed guidance is sorely needed. Rigorous evaluation of the proposed recommendations is needed while continuing to build on the emerging peer-reviewed evidence base that should form the foundation of policy and regulatory changes.

Slang is a phenomenon of using language variations that arise as a result of language development and as well as a social dynamic in society in the realm of language. Slang in Indonesian is referred to as bahasa gaul and is mainly used by young people when communicating with other groups. Currently, the appearance of slang in the conversations of young people is very high, especially when viewed through interactions on social media such as Facebook, Instagram and Youtube. The emergence of YouTubers and celebgrams also has an impact on the wider spread and use of slang words today because slang words are one of the language styles that is often used by them.
 Therefore, this study attempts to analyse more deeply the form, function and meaning of existing slang, especially those used in social media. This research is qualitative in nature with documentation methods in data collection. The data was obtained through observations about the use of slang on social media (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Whats App), then the slang found is classified into the type and formation of words, followed by an analysis of the functions and meanings of slang in social media today. Based upon Allan & Burridge (2006) the findings show that the forms of slang found on social media are very diverse such as Fresh and Creative, Flippant, Imitative, Acronyms and Clipping. This indicates that social media users, especially the younger generation, are very creative and active in forming new slang words.
