Abstract

The article defines the place and role of scientific and research activity in the system of professional training of the future officer of the National Guard, which is the basis of formation of scientific and research competence of a specialist. It is proved that the formation of scientific and research competence of the future officer provides the transition from educational activities to scientific and research activities and further to professional ones in context of effective solution of a particular number of professional tasks. Strategic tasks of training specialists in the National Academy of the National Guard of Ukraine are defined. It is established that the scientific and research work of the Academy is carried out in the field of five departments: Operational and Tactical; Command and Staff, Logistics Department, Humanities Department and Kyiv Department. The scientific activity in the Academy is focused on acquiring and using new knowledge in the field of service and fighting activities of law enforcement forces, scientific support of the educational process and training of scientific, pedagogical and academic staff of the highest qualification. It is established that the main direction of scientific activity in Academy is scientific work within on-stage performance groups of scientific and scientific-pedagogical specialists of research center and departments of Academy. Based on a comprehensive analysis, it is established that the Research Center of Service and Fighting Activity of Academy is focused on providing scientific support for the further development of NGU. There are defined tasks and activity areas of research laboratories of the Academy: laboratory of service and fighting applications of NGU; laboratory of service and fighting support of NGU; laboratory of morale service and fighting support of NGU; laboratory of construction and operational application of NGU; laboratory of new types of weapons. The article defines the directions of current research practiced by research laboratories. The structure and composition of the Scientific and Technical Council are studied, and the functions and directions of activities of its sections are defined: the Military Sciences Section; Technical Sciences Section; The Humanities Section; Economic Sciences Section. The perspectives of international cooperation of the Academy in the direction of scientific and research activities are justified.
