Abstract

Body balance disorders in the elderly tend to fall from a standing position. This occurs due to the reduced function of several systems, including the musculoskeletal, central nervous, and sensory systems. Hypertension is one of the causes of body balance disorders. This study aimed to determine the relationship between hypertension in the elderly and the incidence of balance disorders in the elderly. Method: research was conducted using purposive sampling. Data analysis used chi-square. The data collection technique involves measuring the time you stand on one leg and doing it on both legs. The results of the study show that women suffer from hypertension more than men. The relationship between hypertension and body balance disorders has a P-value <0.05. Conclusion: Women suffer from hypertension more than men. There is a significant relationship between hypertension sufferers and body balance disorders
