Abstract

Soviet students and workers in the higher school are preparing to greet the Twenty-fifth Congress of the Communist Party. Collectives are widely discussing the draft of the "Basic Directions for the Development of the USSR National Economy in 1976-1980." At the initiative of collectives at Moscow State University, Leningrad Polytechnic Institute, and other leading higher education institutions in the country, all higher education institutions have adopted socialist pledges for further improving the quality of specialist training, developing important scientific research, strengthening ties with production, and improving ideological education. This is important work that can be performed successfully only when we consider what has been done in the Ninth Five-Year Period.
