Abstract

The SARS-CoV-2 epidemic had a huge impact on the functioning of every sphere of public life. The introduction of restrictions or even bans on conducting business activity in many industries had an obvious impact on the situation of entrepreneurs. The state has taken specific measures to minimize the negative impact of the introduced restrictions and bans, and those addressed to entrepreneurs deserve special attention. One of its forms is the possibility for entrepreneurs to apply for the reduction of their public-law burdens or for an exemption from bearing them. Such a benefit is granted to entrepreneurs under the so-called Anti-crisis Shield related to the pandemic state introduced in the country, the possibility of submitting to the Social Insurance Institution (hereinafter: ZUS) an application for exemption from paying contributions due to payers in specific industries.
