Abstract
The present paper focuses on the institution of a partial judgment, provided for in Article 404c of the Code of Criminal Proceedings, which was introduced into Polish criminal procedure by the Act of 7 July 2023 Amending the Code of Civil Proceedings, the Law on the System of Ordinary Courts, the Code of Criminal Proceedings and Certain Other Acts (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 1860). The study analyses the grounds for resolving a case by way of a partial judgment and discusses procedural matters related to the issuance of this type of ruling. The article presents the ratio legis of the enactment of the provisions on a partial judgment and provides their legal-dogmatic analysis, as well as evaluating them from the point of view of the axiology of criminal procedure. It also makes proposals for the future concerning the institution in question.
