Abstract

Objective To observe the effect of recombinant human epidermal growth factor combining silvadene cream on diabetic foot ulcer.Methods Total 18 T2DM patients with diabetic foot ulcer concurrent infection defined by the Wagner Classification were observed,everyone were treated base on the conventional therapy,except for the use of recombinant human epidermal growth factor combining silvadene cream on the ulcer.Results 2 patients were discharged voluntarily because of economic reason.12 patients had complete healing between 10 and 47 days,the healing rate reached 75%.Another 4 patients were recovered surpassing half of the original ulcer during the hospital stay,and they continue the use of recombinant human epidermal growth factor combining silvadene cream post-discharge,2 patients healing well follow up one month visit.Conclusion Diabetic foot deer less Grade 4 defined by the wagner classification can be treated by combined therapy including the use of recombinant human epidermal growth factor combining silvadene cream on the wound,which can avoid moiety patients suffering surgery even amputation.
