Abstract
Mathematical reasoning ability is a thinking process that connects information or data in getting conclusions. In reasoning ability, several factors influenced it, one of which was the gender factor. The pattern of thinking done by male and female students ware different effects the results in learning. This study aimed to determine how the differences in mathematical reasoning between male and female students. This research method used qualitative research with a descriptive design. The study subjects were four students with the highest scores of female and male students in class X TKJ Islamic Vocational School Kawalu Tasikmalaya. The data collection method used mathematical reasoning ability tests and semi-structured interviews. The validation of the research instrument was carried out by a lecturer at the Mathematics Education Program, Siliwangi University. Data analysis in this study included data reduction, presentation, and drawing the conclusions. This study concluded that there were differences in reasoning between male and female students. Based on the four indicators used, female students have met all the indicators provided, while male students can only meet two existing indicators.
