Abstract

Objective To observe the curative effect and adverse reaction in the treatment of depres-sion by using venlafaxine combined with sulpiride. Methods The 64 hospital patients with depression were di-vided into two groups randomly. The study group of patients was treated with Venlafaxine Combined with Sulpiride while the controlled group of patients was treated with venlafaxine only. The curative effect and adverse reaction will be measured by Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD) and Treatment Emergent Symptom Scale (TESS). Results The decrease rate in HAMD of the study group33.08% is higher than the controlled groupl0. 64% from the first week and the curative effect87.5% is better than the controlled group68.8% from the fourth week,there are no badly adverse reaction in two groups. Conclusion The treatment with venlafaxine combined with sulpiride can swiftly relieve the depression symptom and the curative effect is better than the treatment with venlafaxine only, and there is no increasing adverse reaction and the patients are willing to follow the course of treatment.
