Abstract

Objective To observe the clinical effect of applying mitomycin-C combining with di-clofenac sodium for prevention against Haze and relieving pain and inflammation after laser subepithelial ker-atomileusis(LASEK).Methods Ninety cases(180 eyes)with medium and high myopia(-5.0~-10.0 D)were di-vided into three groups randomly.Thirty cases (60 eyes)in experimental group were applied 0.1% diclofenac sodium eyedrops before and after two days of LASEK respectivcly, and used 0.02% mitomycin-C in LASEK. Thirty cases(60 eyes)weren't used mitomycin-C and diclofenac sodium eyedrops in LASEK as control group Ⅰ. Thirty cases (60 eyes)only used 0.02% mitomycin-C in LASEK as control group Ⅱ .The assessments of pain, photophobia,tearing,stinging-buming,blepharoedema and conjunctival congestion were made in one week, The occurence and development of Haze was observed at 1 month,3months,6 months respectively after LASEK in all gorups. Results The uncomfortable symptoms occurred in experimental group were obviously lower(P <0.05 )than that of the two control groups. The degree of Haze occurred in experimental group and con-trol group Ⅱ were obviously lower (P <0.05 )than that of control group Ⅰ at different times. Conclusion Mito-mycin-C combining with diclofenac sodium was obviously effective to relieving pain, inflammation and pre-venting Haze from coming into being after LASEK. Key words: Laser subepithelial keratomileusis; Mitomycin-C; Diclofenac sodium
