Abstract

AbstractA modified version of the Chasman equation linking dye granularity to underlying developed silver granularity of a colour negative photographic material has been studied. It was found that this mathematical relationship can successfully predict absolute dye granularity for photographic materials incorporating either development inhibitor or accelerator releasing coupler. It was also shown that an algebraic modification to the equation tested can lead to a significant reduction in the errors in calculating dye granularity.
