Abstract
Objectives: Describe the current situation and some factors related to the quality of life of people with pulmonary tuberculosis undergoing outpatient treatment at Go Vap District Health Center in 2022. Subjects and methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out from December 2021 to June 2022, using the SF-36 questionnaire version 2.0 to assess the quality of life of 140 people. TB patients aged 18 years or older were treated as outpatients at the Go Vap District Health Center. The multivariable linear regression model was applied with descriptive and univariate analysis. Results: The average score of 8 aspects of quality of life was from 47.1 to 77.3 points, with the lowest being general health and the highest being physical functioning. The average score for physical health was 65.4 points; mental health was 64.3 points. The average quality of life score was 65.0 points. Unmarried people with pulmonary tuberculosis had an average quality of life score 9.55 points higher (CI95%: 2.36 - 16.73) than the married group. Conclusion: The quality of life of people with pulmonary tuberculosis was average and was related to marital status. Keywords: Quality of life, SF-36, pulmonary tuberculosis.
