Abstract
Nine epilithic, epiphytic and endophytic species from four genera of filamentous brown algae were collected during January 1962 and April 1993 from the coastal areas near Karachi (Pakistan) in the northern Arabian Sea. They were taxonomically investigated, which revealed the presence of two new species, i.e. Feldmannia nizamuddinii Aisha et Shameel and Hincksia nizamuddinii Aisha et Shameel and two new combinations i.e. Feldmannia duchassaingiana (Grunow) Aisha et Shameel and Hincksia conifera (Borgesen) Aisha et Shameel. Most of the species have been taxonomically described for the first time from the coast of Pakistan.
