Abstract
The issues addressed in this article are in line with the contemporary environmental objectives and challenges facing the cement industry today. In the case of cement plants, one of the main emitters of CO2, the environmental objective is to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 55% in 2030 and by 100% in 2050. The main objective of the article consists in identifying measures for sustainable development, such as the combustion of alternative fuels, using secondary raw materials, or investing in renewable energy sources, using a cement plant located in Poland as an example. Basing on the materials provided by the cement plant and the environmental survey, a SWOT analysis was carried out, identifying the strengths and weaknesses as well as the opportunities and threats of the analysed cement plant in the context of sustainability measures.
