Abstract
The subject of this paper constitutes a current economic problem, both in economic and environmental terms, with a global dimension. This results from the fact that Poland and the rest of the European Union countries are facing an electricity transformation. This brings many challenges, but also concerns from the social and economic side. The article identifies the strengths and weaknesses as well as the opportunities and threats concerning the possible directions of the transformation in Poland. Basing on the opinions of experts from the energy industry, the socio-economic benefits of the proposed projects have been identified.
