Abstract

Infrared 10–700 cm −1 reflection spectra of the lanthanum modified lead zirconate titanate (Pb(1−x)Lax)(Zr0,65 Ti0,35)1−x/4O3 relaxor ceramics with x = 9,75 at.% La content are measured at 15 – 200 °C and under pulsed irradiation of 250 keV electrons and carbon ions. Interpretation of the reflection spectra is given in terms of temperature dependent and radiation affected phonon modes providing the major contribution of electrons suppressing the phonon modes. X-ray studies of the pulsed electric field induced structural changes in PLZT 4.5/65/35 ceramics at room temperature are paralleled. Analysis of X - ray data has shown changes of the shape and intensities of all Bragg peaks after pulsed irradiation electrons and especially in ion irradiated samples. A complex dependence of lattice parameters on the irradiation dose is found.
