Abstract
The aim of the analysis is to confirm the hypothesis that the panorama of foreign languages represented in education in the Republic of Serbia has not been consistently implemented in education in Novi Pazar. For the purpose of the analysis, we used the data obtained by survey- ing primary and secondary school students in Novi Pazar, conducted in October of the school year 2020/21. year, with open and closed questions. A total of 40 high school students and 43 elementary school students participated in the investigation. Based on the survey, we obtained data concerning the foreign languages students of Novi Pazar schools learn institutionally, but also related to the ones they learn outside educational institutions. In February of the school year 2020/21. we also collected a questionnaire for the administrative staff of Novi Pazar high schools, which gave us a clear insight into the data on the number of students studying some of the foreign languages. We approached the data processing with quantitative-qualitative analysis, confirming our initial hypothesis that the language situation at the global level in the Republic of Serbia is not equivalent to the observed situation in education in Novi Pazar.
