Abstract

Objective To investigate the treatment of recurrent pterygium.Methods Pterygium resection was peformed in 48 eyes of 48 cases with recurrent pterygium.During the surgery,mitomycin C was used and then the autologous stem cells of corneal limbus were transplanted.Results After 6 months,pterygium recurred in one eye among 48 eyes,and the recurring rate was 2.08%.There was no complication happening.Conclusion Autologous corneal limbus stem cells transplantation and mitomycin C combined with wide pterygium excision is effective for recurrent pterygium.
