Abstract

Objective To investigate the papers published in the Chinese Journal of Diagnostics (Electronic editionin) in 2015. Methods All articles published in the Chinese Journal of Diagnostics (Electronic edition and introductory printed edition) in the year 2015 were analyzed, including the number, column and style of published articles, the institution and area distribution of the first authors, the foundation-supported articles, the amounts of authors and citations and the publishing delay.Then these results were compared with those of 2014. Results In the year of 2015, four issues of the Chinese Journal of Diagnostics(Electronic Edition)were published, including 305 pages in the electronic edition and 256 pages in the printed edition.75 papers were published this year, with the maximum of 20, minimum of 15, average of 18.75 per issue.In total, four monographic study issues were published, with 59 papers, accounting for 78.67% proportion of total publishment, and 141 pages, accounting for 55.08% of total publishment.On average, each paper covered 4.07 pages in the electronic edition and 3.41 pages in the printed edition.The paper density and information density of the electronic edition was 0.25 and 3.93.The paper density and information density of the printed edition were 0.29 and 4.29.Original articles (57) were the main style of published papers, accounting for 76.00%, while short reports (12)accounted for 16.00%, review (2) accounted for 4.00%.Authors were distributed in 18 provinces or autonomous regions, among which Shandong, Guangdong, Shanghai, Jiangsu and Beijing amounted for 36.00%(27), 14.76%(11), 9.33%(7), 5.33%(4) and 5.33%(4) respectively.Colleges and universities, with the account of 80.00% (60), were the maximal first author institution, while hospitals at country level merely accounted for 1.33%.The total quantity of foundation-supported papers was 56, with the ratio of 74.67%, 16 of national foundation-supported papers, 27 of provincial foundation-supported papers, 21 of prefectural foundation-supported papers.There were 1-12 authors of all issues, with the majority of co-corresponding authors.The publishing delay ranged from 10 to 337 days.The average citation ranged from 11.42 to 27 per issue. Conclusions The Chinese Journal of Diagnostics has abundant information sources and its main style of published papers is the original article.The majority of the papers are supported by foundations.The authors are mainly from the colleges and universities with a nation-wide distribution.The distribution of first author has widened.The amount of published issues have enhanced, while the proportion of supported papers has slightly decreased compared with those of 2014.
