Abstract

Objective To explore the bibliometric characteristics of the fund-sponsored articles in the Chinese Journal of Diagnostics(Electronic Edition) from 2014 to 2017. Methods With bibliometrics method, the 283 published papers from 2014 to 2017 of Chinese Journal of Diagnostics(Electronic Edition) were analyzed from the following aspects: the ratio of funded papers, the number of funded projects, the types of foundation levels and the area and organization distributions of the first author in the funded papers. Results From 2014 to 2017, the ratio of funded papers of Chinese Journal of Diagnostics(Electronic Edition) was all over 60%, the highest was in 2014, reaching to 88.57% (62/70), and the total funded thesis ratio from 2014 to 2017 was 73.50% (208/283). The ratio of total funded papers per issue was also more than 60%, among which the fourth issue was the highest, which was 78.87% (56/71). Single period funded paper ratio was analyzed, the first issue of 2014 was the highest, reaching to 94.11% (16/17). The third issue of 2016 was the lowest, at 44.44% (8/18). From 2014 to 2017, most of the fund-sponsored articles were funded by multiple projects, with 208 founded papers and 313 funded projects, of which 39.62% (124/313) were at provincial and ministerial level, 19.81% (62/313) were at municipal level and 18.53% (58/313) were at national level. The first authors of the funded papers were distributed in 24 provinces and autonomous regions, with Shandong, Beijing and Guangdong ranking the top three, accounting for 37.02% (77/208), 9.62% (20/208) and 9.62% (20/208) respectively. Most of the organizations where the first authors come from in the funded papers were colleges and universities, accounting for 54.33% (113/208), and municipal hospitals were the second one, at 21.15%(44/208). Conclusions The Chinese Journal of Diagnostics(Electronic Edition) has a certain academic influence and attracts many authors′ attention. There are many research projects carried by the funded papers, which have considerable academic levels. Funded papers are mainly provincial and ministerial level projects, and the quantity of papers funded by the National Natural Science Foundation needs to be improved. The first authors of the funded papers are widely distributed, but Shandong accounts for a large proportion, which reflects the excessive concentration of funded paper sources. The first authors from colleges and universities are the main forces of the fund-sponsored articles in Chinese Journal of Diagnostics (Electronic Edition).
