Abstract

Objective To investigate the papers published in the Chinese Journal of Diagnostics(Electronic Edition)in 2014. Methods All articles published in the Chinese Journal of Diagnostics(Electronic Edition)in the year 2014 were analyzed, including the number, column and style of published articles, the institution and area distribution of the first authors, the foundation-supported articles, the amounts of authors and citations and the publishing delay. Results In the year of 2014, four issues of the Chinese Journal of Diagnostics(Electronic Edition)were published, including three hundred and twenty-one pages in the CD-ROM and online edition and two hundred and fifty-six pages in the printed edition.Seventy-four papers were published this year, with the average of 18.5 per issue.On average, each paper covered 4.34 pages in the CD-ROM and online edition and 3.46 pages in the printed edition.The paper density of the CD-ROM and online edition was 0.23, and the printed edition was 0.29.Original articles were the main style of published papers, accounting for 64.86%, while short reports accounted for 18.92%.Authors were distributed in forteen provinces or autonomous regions, among which Shandong, Beijing and Guangdong province amounted for 41.89% (31), 14.86% (11) and 13.51% (10) respectively.Colleges and universities, with the account of 71.62%, were the maximal first author institution, while hospitals at country level merely accounted for 1.35%.The total quantity of foundation-supported papers were sixty-four, with the ratio of 86.49%.The average citation amount ranged from 13.22 to 15.22 per issue.There were less than 10 authors of all issues, with the majority of corresponding authors.Only one paper was accomplished independently.Sixty-six papers (62.16%) were written by corresponding authors belonging to one institution, while twenty-four papers (32.43%) were accomplished by authors from two institutions.The publishing delay ranged from thirteen to one hundred and thirty-eight days. Conclusions The Chinese Journal of Diagnostics(Electronic Edition)has abundant information sources and its main style of published papers is the original article. The majority of the papers are supported by foundations.The authors are mainly from the colleges and universities with a nation-wide distribution.
