Abstract

The present work deals with the prediction of temperature at which the failure occurs either in static or in buckling mode for a thin FRP laminate using 2-D finite element method that works on classical lamination theory. The problem is modeled in commercial software ANSYS version 12. Effect of geometrical parameter such asi) in-plane aspect ratio, and material parameters such as i) fiber orientation, ii) Fiber stacking sequence on failure temperature is studied.
