Abstract

The present work deals with the prediction of temperature at which buckling starts for a thin FRP laminate using 2-D finite element method that works on classical lamination theory. The problem is modeled in commercial software ANSYS WORKBENCH version 12. Effect of geometrical parameters such as i) Thickness ratio, ii) in-plane aspect ratio, and material parameters such as i) fiber orientation, ii) Fiber stacking sequence on buckling temperature is studied.
