Abstract The U.S. Air Force and NASA have identified the solar-powered Brayton cycle as a possible space power system and have funded 1 , 2 , 3 analytical and development work to prove the technological capabilities of the system components. In addition, various component and system studies and technological developments have been sponsored by several companies.
