Abstract

This study aims to describe the form of HOTS in the aspect of analyzing Indonesian language textbooks for SMA/SMK Class X of the 2013 curriculum and the independent curriculum. This type of research is qualitative research using the descriptive method. The data sources used in this study amounted to four Indonesian language textbooks, including two Indonesian language textbooks for SMA/SMK class X curriculum 2013 and two Indonesian language textbooks for SMA/SMK independent curriculum. The data analysis technique used in this research is descriptive-qualitative analysis. The results of this study reveal that there are forms of analyzing, evaluating, and creating. The form of analysis consists of three parts, namely, distinguishing, organizing, and attributing. The process of evaluating consists of two parts, namely; examining and criticizing. The process of creating consists of three parts, namely; formulating, planning, and producing.
