Abstract
This study aims to describe listening skills before and after using podcast media for class VIII students of SMP Negeri 16 Makassar. This type of research is experimental research with quantitative descriptive method. The population in this study were all VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 16 Makassar totalling 204 consisting of seven classes homogeneously. Sampling in this study used simple random sampling technique. The instrument used in this study was a multiple choice test. The data collection techniques used by researchers are pretest, action, and posttest. The data analysis technique used in this research is descriptive statistics. The pretest results showed that the average student score was 47.5 and the posttest results showed that the average student score was 83.18. So it can be concluded that podcast media has an effect on listening skills in class VIII students of SMP Negeri 16 Makassar.
