Abstract

This study aims to explore the relationship between school leadership behaviors and teacher motivation in the Chinese educational environment. Research understands the impact of this relationship by examining teacher profiles, assessments of principal leadership behaviors, and measures of teacher motivation levels. Research has found that principals exhibiting caring-oriented behaviors help increase teachers' motivation levels. However, teacher motivation is more influenced by external factors, such as rewards and incentives, rather than intrinsic satisfaction that comes from the job itself. Research also highlights the importance of transformational leadership in stimulating teacher interest and improving performance. Based on the findings, a series of recommendations are put forward to improve teacher motivation and performance, including promoting genuine interest in teaching, providing incentives, creating a teamwork atmosphere, providing professional development opportunities, and making effective use of educational resources. This study provides valuable insights into the relationship between leadership behaviors and teacher motivation in Chinese educational institutions and provides practical suggestions for improvement.
