Abstract

The Hamiltonian describing scattering of holes on crystallite misorientations in isotropic silicon and germanium polycrystals is suggested. This Hamiltonian can be used to describe hole transitions both within one band and between heavy and light hole bands. The Hamiltonian obtained is used to estimate masses of light and heavy holes and to calculate the probability of hole scattering on crystallite misorientations in the isotropic silicon polycrystal.
