Abstract
The solubility of thallous bromate has been measured in aqueous solutions of LiNO 3, NaNO 3, KNO 3, CsNO 3 and Mg(NO 3) 2 at 30° and at ionic strengths less than 0·1 M. The association constant of thallous nitrate has been determined from these measurements. The i.r. absorption spectrum of crystalline thallous bromate suggests significant Tl + ion interaction with the three oxygen atoms of the BrO 3 − ion.
