Abstract

The objective of this article is to characterize the use of social networks, for educational purposes, in the training of university professionals. In this regard, the article offers a foundation of the process of training university professionals mediated by ICT and its dynamics for the use of social networks for educational purposes. A causal diagnosis made in the context of “Universidad de Oriente” of Santiago de Cuba, allowed to characterize the current state of this process which allowed to reveal the theoretical - praxiological insufficiencies that are manifested in it that demand the need for its improvement in the plane didactic - methodological, with a view to meet the demands of university education in the technological era through which humanity is transiting.
