Abstract

The increasing frequency of global warming and extreme weather events raises concerns regarding energy conservation and efficient personal thermal management. As communication and technology progress, multifunctional wearable thermal management devices are gaining significant attention. In this study, a novel green recycled polyethylene terephthalate (rPET)-based sandwich composite with FeCo@C nanoparticles, silver nanowires (AgNWs), and polyimide tape (rPET/FeCo@C/AgNWs/PI) assembled by an efficient “filtering and taping” method was developed for multi-functions, including excellent Joule heat performance that rapidly increase to 165.7 ℃ at 0.9 V voltage in 12 s, electromagnetic interference shielding property with 49.35 dB at 120 μm thickness in the X-band (8.2–12.4 GHz), antibacterial and self-cleaning properties. Experimental results confirm the potential to the rPET/FeCo@C/AgNWs/PI composite for the thermal management and electromagnetic interference shielding.
