Abstract

This paper summarizes the recent evolution of image reconstruction for emission tomography. We briefly review the impact of the 3D reconstruction, of the iterative algorithms, of the gated and dynamic problems, of list mode reconstructions, of time-of-flight positron tomography, of Monte-Carlo based reconstruction, and finally of multi-modality imaging. The second part of the text proposes a generic scheme for iterative algorithms, with a description of the different components of these algorithms.
