Racemization studies on the new complex anions [Cr(ox)2bipy]- and [Cr(ox)2phen]-show a close similarity to each other in neutral, acidic and basic solutions. Comparisons with other Cr(III) oxalato complexes are made and possible racemization mechanisms are discussed.
