Abstract
Discusses development of process automation in the Swedish water industry. Gives examples of various applications. These include MMC (Man-Machine-Communication) via office-based or portable operator work stations, remote monitoring and control of sewage pumping stations, monitoring of flow in sewage and potable water networks, advanced process control, automatic checking of meters and long-term data storage as a tool for process optimization.
