Preface

Abstract

The Fifth International Conference on Green Energy and Environment (The 5th ICoGEE 2023) was organized by the Faculty of Engineering – Universitas Bangka Belitung, co-hosted by Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka, and supported by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. Also, the government of Bangka Belitung Island Province and State Electricity Enterprise region Bangka will be held in two (2) days on September 26th - 27th, 2023, with the theme "Science and Technology Revolution for Green Energy and Environmental Sustainability in the Post-Pandemic Era." As an annual conference, ICoGEE provides a highly competitive forum for informing and reporting the latest innovation developments of green energy and application, environmental science and technology, and energy and environmental management. The conference’s parallel sessions allow presenters to share their research results and exchange new ideas, information, and applications related to the theory, design, development, implementation, testing, or evaluation of green energy and the environment. This year, ICoGEE invites four keynote speakers from the United Kingdom, Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia to have a more in-depth discussion. One hundred sixteen (116) participants ICoGEE with affiliations ten (10) countries consisting of Indonesia, Japan, USA, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Cyprus, Philippines, Singapore and United Kingdom.Another goal of ICoGEE is to build a collaborative network between government, practitioners, and academics to solve problems in the energy and environmental sectors. Our great honor is that four experts gave excellent keynote speeches: Prof. Misri Gozan from Universitas Indonesia, Prof. Ts. Dr. Effendi Bin Mohamad from Universiti Teknikal Melaka Malaysia, Assoc. Prof. Xie Ming from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore and Dr. Ivana Hasa from the University of Warwick, United Kingdom. Although The 5th ICoGEE 2023 was held virtually, the conference can still achieve its primary purpose or benefit. All manuscripts published in the proceeding have been through a rigorous review to meet the requirement of high-quality papers. The committee wishes to acknowledge the speakers and participants who attended this virtual conference. We are beyond glad that this pandemic situation, which has been going on for more than a year, would not let their spirit down to keep participating in this conference.
