Abstract

Bacteria are prokaryotic microorganisms and unicellular. There is no a membrane-bound organelle, these are simpler than other types of microorganisms (eukaryotic). Eukaryotic microorganisms have membrane bound organelles. Only some of the microorganisms can be seen by naked eyes, whereas the rest are microscopic. Microorganisms have different shape, size, and structure. There are three common shapes of bacteria: coccus, bacillus, and spiral. The exact size of a microbial cell in a microscope can be determined with a calibrated ocular micrometer for an objective of microscope. Micrometer measures the dimensions of microbial cells in terms of length, diameter, and thickness. In this practice, microbial shape would be identified beside detection of their size under microscope.
