Abstract

The article highlights the peculiarities of the formation of the health of schoolchildren in the conditions of distance learning. Recently, the situation with children's health has approached critical: the level of general morbidity and prevalence of diseases of individual organs and systems is increasing. It is noted that one of the key factors negatively affecting the health of the younger generation is distance learning, which was initiated in 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 epidemic and partially continued with the introduction of martial law, as it contributed to the sedentary lifestyle of children. Also, as a result of the introduction of distance learning, it became impossible to hold full-fledged physical education lessons. A survey was conducted among schoolchildren aged 15-16 regarding their physical activity during distance learning. It was established that more than 25% do not perform physical exercises at home at all (except for physical education lessons). An analysis of the results of passing some standards by students before and after distance learning was also carried out, and some decrease in results was seen even with a duration of online learning of 1 month.Research has confirmed that distance learning, and, as a result, a less active lifestyle, negatively affects the physical health of schoolchildren. To minimize this negative impact, it is necessary to develop a number of recommendations for increasing physical activity in the conditions of online education. Physical education teachers and parents of schoolchildren should pay considerable attention to motivating children to engage in physical exercises outside of class, as a sedentary lifestyle takes place in remote learning conditions.
