Abstract

A tunable and reconfigurable photonic microwave filter based on optical switches and dispersive media is proposed. The architecture shows discrete filter tuning and reconfiguration capabilities using a multiwavelength source which reduces the system cost when compared to other proposals based on broadband tunable lasers. Both tuning and reconfiguration capabilities have been experimentally demonstrated.
