Abstract

Tracing the transformations in labour and employment caused by the COVID-19 pandemic-triggered economic downturn from an interdisciplinary perspective was the key aim of the article. Relying on relevant scientific publications, expert assessments, empirical research data and statistical information from diverse sources, the author reconstructs probable long-term effects of the pandemic on the work environment and labour relations, labour resources and human potential, the structure and ratio of economic sectors and industries, labour institutions and practices, business communication models and corporate culture, labour management and work efficiency evaluation. The article also analyses how mass quarantine and self-isolation measures contributed to the accelerating digital transformation in labour and employment. The ideas and findings presented in the publication can serve as a basis for further research in the field and be an impulse for future academic debates on the topic.
