Abstract

The breastfeeding technique is the process of giving ASI (Mother's Milk) from the mother to her baby. Errors in breastfeeding techniques can be influenced by various factors, including factors of experience, age and knowledge factors. This study aims to determine the effect of teaching breastfeeding techniques with demonstration methods and the method of picture and picture in postpartum mothers on breastfeeding management in the puerperal room of Syifa Aura Hospital, Kediri Regency. This study uses the Quasy Experiment Design, a population of 55 postpartum mothers taken by simple random sampling obtained a sample of 32 postpartum mothers. Analysis of the results of this study using the Wilcoxon Match Pair Test with a significance level of 0.05. The results obtained p value (0,000) <(α) 0.05 means that there is the influence of teaching breastfeeding techniques with the demonstration method and the method of picture and picture. Continued by Mann Withney U-Test obtained the average value of breastfeeding postpartum mothers with demonstration methods (18.84) higher than the picture and picture method (14.16), then the use of demonstration methods is better used to improve breastfeeding ability. It is expected that the next researcher uses demonstration methods for other teaching
