Abstract

The application of the Discovery Learning method in the learning activities of the VI grade students of SDN Siwalankerto II is needed in order to improve the learning outcomes of rhythmic gymnastics. Based on the findings of PJOK teachers, students still do not meet the predetermined standard values. Therefore, concrete steps are needed to improve learning outcomes, especially in rhythmic gymnastics. The purpose of this study is to improve student activities in participating in learning and improve learning outcomes of rhythmic gymnastics through the application of the Discovery Learnin method. The research design used is Classroom Action Research using several stages. Objects and subjects in this study were students of class VI SDN Siwalankerto II Surabaya City. The data collection instrument used a type of test and observation. Data analysis includes the percentage, individual completeness, and classical completeness, as well as the percentage of improvement. The results of the study illustrate that the percentage of student activity in learning activities in the first cycle, 0% Very Good category, 17% Good Category, 30% Enough category, and 53% in the Less category. Whereas in the second cycle there was an increase in the percentage of student learning activity scores, namely there were 30% students in the Bai Once category, 57% of students in the Good category, 13 students in the Enough category, and in the second cycle there were no students who were in the Less category. Furthermore, the percentage increase in classical learning outcomes in cycle I was only 36% increasing to 86% in cycle II. The conclusion in this study is that the application of the Discovery Learning method is effective in improving the learning outcomes of rhythmic gymnastics in class VI SDN Siwalankerto II students.
