Abstract

An institution in carrying out its activities, whether a company or government engaged in administration and management as well as services will strive for the success of various activities within the company / government in achieving goals not only depending on technological excellence, available funds, facilities and infrastructure and experience, personality, attitudes and expectations, but also depends on aspects of human resources. The General Bureau has a reliable commitment and purpose in the field of service in seeking and creating success and success for Motivation in an effort to improve employee performance in the Household Section of the General Bureau. The facts found in employee behavior If expectations can come true, employees will tend to increase their work enthusiasm, on the other hand, if expectations are not achieved, employees will become lazy.
 The objectives of this study are (1) to identify and analyze motivation in an effort to improve employee performance at the Household Section of the Aceh Regional Secretariat General Bureau, and (2) to identify and analyze supporting and inhibiting factors of motivation in an effort to improve employee performance in the Household Section Aceh Regional Secretariat General Bureau.
 In this study, the researcher used a qualitative approach with the selection of informants deliberately on the types and sources of data needed. The data collection technique uses (a) direct observation (b) interviews (c) documentation, then the analysis is carried out interactively, while the technical process of data analysis in this study is analysis using an interactive model through 3 (three) components of the analysis, namely data reduction, presentation of data, drawing conclusions.
 The results showed that work experience as knowledge and skills of a person in his job which can be measured from the work period. Personality can be assumed about the quality of human behavior in adapting to and interacting with their environment. The attitude that a person has is a link or a unity in determining his attitude and behavior
 Based on the results of the research above, it can be concluded that with the motivation given by the head of the General Bureau of Household to employees so that employee performance can be increased and if less motivation given by the leadership is greatly affected by performance.
