Abstract
An alternative learning model that can improve students' critical thinking skills and cognitive learning outcomes is the application of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) Models combined with Fishbone Diagrams (FD). The purpose of this research is to improve students' Biology creative thinking skills through the application of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) Models combined with Fishbone Diagrams (FD). The type of research used is classroom action research (CAR). The descriptive qualitative and quantitative data obtained from the research results, namely critical thinking skills, student cognitive learning outcomes, and learning implementation, were analyzed alongside the qualitative data. The results showed that the application of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model combined with the Fishbone Diagram (FD) could improve critical thinking skills and cognitive learning outcomes for seventh grade students at MTs Al-Hidayah Pandansari and Poncokusumo Malang. This can be proven by the ability to think critically, which is facilitated by using the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) Model combined with Fishbone Diagram (FD), which increases from cycle I to cycle II with an average increase of 19.3%.
