Abstract

In recent decades, urbanization processes have been developed based on settlements of social groups at a local level, which share their own cultures and values. The objective is to identify the factors that influence gender participation in Territorial Base Organizations (OTB) of District 9 as spaces of power in the Kanata province of the department of Cochabamba. The approach is mixed, combining qualitative and quantitative methods for the analysis and processing of information. The population consisted of 9 members of the OTB. Among the findings, it was observed that the processes of discrimination and violence against women develop in a very subtle way, so in some cases they have been forced to resign from their positions. In conclusion, despite regulatory advances, such as Law 243 against harassment and political violence towards women, deep gender inequalities persist in these spaces of local power.
