Abstract

The cryogenic plant operating 10+ years at the National Synchrotron Light Source II (NSLS-II) at Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) and supplying the liquid Helium for three superconducting Radio Frequency cavities. The objective is the continuous liquid Helium supply without interrupting operation. This paper outlines our experience in troubleshooting of various failures of the cryogenic plant and main considerations regarding the selection of the equipment and components.
