Abstract

The physical foundation of the theory of the smooth airgap machine with main flux saturation taken into account is carefully examined with special reference to the justification of the simplifying assumptions commonly used when the transient equations are established. An experiment showing the nature of the magnetic interaction between coils in quadrature is demonstrated. Measured and computed results are compared.
