Abstract

The aim of this study was to check Thayer’s model of arousal, by the use of the Thayer’s adjective lists for the selfassessment of activation. During a 24-hour investigation apart from the selfassessment, the heart rate and the oral temperature were recorded hourly on 31 subjects, for later comparisons. The results based on variation comparisons of the variables did not fully confirm the validity of the Thayer’s model. The results did not support Thayer’s explanations of the differences in the phases of the body temperature and arousal curves, either.
