Abstract

A method for obtaining nanowires by electrodischarge treatment (electrospark doping) with materials being a mechanical mixture of a low-melting component dispersed into a high-melting matrix (e.g., Al-Sn) is presented. The basic component of the nanowires is a low-melting component; therefore, upon the electrodischarge treatment, the Sn concentration increases sharply in the surface layer. The experimental results count in favor of the significant role of ponderomotive forces in the transfer of the melted particles in the conditions of the electrospark doping.
