Abstract

The study aims to identify the level of knowledge of the nursing team about the CPR protocol and its influence on care for cardiorespiratory arrest in the intensive care unit of a hospital in Greater Vitória. The chosen methodology was field research of the observational type of descriptive character with a quantitative approach. To this end, a closed questionnaire was carried out with twelve questions divided into three levels of difficulty with 65 professionals, 21.5% nurses and 78.5% nursing technicians, with a general average of 67.6% correct answers. It was observed that, as the level of difficulty increased, there was a decrease in the number of correct answers. Despite acknowledging the importance of the topic, the team had a deficit in knowledge regarding the current recommended guidelines for cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Therefore, the importance of continuing education is emphasized in order to promote quality care and minimize iatrogenic events.
