Abstract

This article examines how financial education can contribute to supporting the treatment of compulsive shopping. This approach is justified given the increase in the number of people in debt who exhibit this comorbidity. The aim of this research was to investigate how financial education can assist in the treatment of individuals diagnosed with compulsive shopping, or oniomania. This objective was achieved through a literature review, conducted by surveying articles and books on impulse control disorders, compulsive buying, and financial education. Thus, the literature review revealed topics that facilitated the conducted research. The study demonstrated that financial education tools can be utilized in supporting the treatment of compulsive shopping.
